We have an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist who will be responsible for performing the day-to-day analysis and examination of entertainment media and associated material as assigned by the QA Lead. This individual will perform tests, report anomalies, and verify implemented fixes throughout the QA production cycle
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Black and white box testing of game and various software applications to ensure quality. Create detailed bug reports as well as learn/follow carrier standards.Verify all aspects of a game and make sure it is up to K2’s high quality standards.Ensure accurate completion of existing test cases.Assuring new patches and updates are functional.Communicate effectively with Production and Development teams.Design and write Test Cases for areas of the game assigned to the candidate. Working knowledge of: QA methodologies, terminology, and tools; multiple computer hardware platforms and configurations.Utilizes project related software applications to report the quality and productivity of the development process.Verifies the functionality of licensed/unlicensed 3rd party software and hardware that may be used in conjunction with our online products and reports all malfunctions or defects.Ensure bug reports are written clearly and accurately, detailing anomalies found and the steps required for repeating those anomalies. Review software documentation for accuracy and completeness as it pertains to test objectives for the product. Verify fixes are implemented correctly throughout the product cycle.Maintain awareness of current software and hardware trends and consumer expectations, specifically regarding computer and console based platforms.Review and analyze competitive interactive massively multiplayer online game products.
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic-to-intermediate PC knowledge, as well as being familiar with Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and OutlookStrong attention to detail, work ethic, and problem solving abilitiesAptitude to learn quickly and ability to remain focused in a team-oriented environmentEffective communication skills (both verbal and written)Must have passion for video games! Availability to work long and odd hours.Willingness to travel as needed.Prior game industry experience, particularly in QA, is necessary to apply!Educational Requirements: Preferred: Associates or Bachelors degree preferably in a technical field and/or equivalent work experience
