Title: Senior Broadcast Engineer

 

Summary

The Senior Broadcast Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of training programs for new engineers, resolution of complex technical issues related to the installation and maintenance of encoding equipment, and assistance in the installation of encoding in new markets. This engineer will act as a mentor to existing staff to aid in their development and advancement. The Senior Broadcast Engineer will be a subject matter expert on the technical systems of radio station airchains.

 

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute formal training and qualification programs for new Currency and Rollout engineers. These programs are to include an objective measure of the readiness of a new engineer to work independently on the rollout or maintenance of encoding in a market.Develop and execute plans for the dissemination of new or updated information.Develop and execute refresher training plans to be executed on a regular basis.Act as a subject matter expert on issues related to radio station systems and technology.Serve as first point of escalation for complex installations where Broadcast Engineers need assistance, or when stations have advanced technical questions Assume responsibility for a market in Rollout or Currency mode on an as-needed basis.

 

RequirementsBachelor degree preferred.7 years broadcast engineering experience3 years experience managing projects with demonstrated ability to deliver on timeExcellent verbal and written communications skills in both technical and non-technical environmentsExcellent documentation skills – both technical and non-technicalTechnical knowledge of broadcast audio/video equipment, connections, and related environments, specifically including typical layouts of radio broadcast airchainsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects on timeCan read schematics and interpret signal flowAbility to troubleshoot technical and operational broadcast systems Working knowledge of MS Office, mainly Outlook, Word and Excel, along with the macro capabilities of sameAbility to work effectively in a team-based environment; strong collaboration skills Must be willing to travel
