Senior Business Analyst

Responsibilities:
•Serves as liaison between business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
•Posses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization systems and capabilities
*Become the expert in the PPM Reporting Client Software applications -- know all the features and functions and be able to easily apply/analyze client requests for enhancements.
•Develop significant understanding of other client software products provided by Arbitron (Tapscan, Max, PDA, etc.) and be able to ensure consistency in the PPM Reporting products as the software is developed.
•Translates high level business requirement into functional specification for the IT organization and manages change to such specifications
•Educates the IT organization on the direction of the new features/functions/products being requested by the business
•Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation
•Possess an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solution o business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s completive edge
•Works independently or as a part of a team under general supervision, may coach junior technical staff
• Use the appropriate methodology when meeting with the client to translate requirements into requirement specifications and work with client to validate requirements through formal review of documentation.
• Assess the customer’s business strategies to identify opportunities for improvement or reengineering.
• Identify business rules that govern customer’s processes. Must analyze and incorporate data into requirements specifications.
• Develop conceptual models based on system context to further the understanding between the intended system and its external environment.
• Define the “as is” (current) state of the problem and the “to be” (future) state the customer aspires to.
• Compile data in logical groupings, define data definitions and structures, analyze to identify trends/variances or gaps, and develop data models for applications that accurately support the business requirements.
• Perform impact assessment and analysis to identify and document potential “ripple effect” of any proposed changes or addition of new requirements.
• Drive project success by applying knowledge of project management principles/practices to complete project activities.
• Create a product sample using prototype methods to ensure proof of concept and validation of requirements when appropriate.
• Capability to introduce and implement Industry standards and best uses practices.
• Ensure Arbitron's SDLC and CMMI practices and procedures are strictly adhered to.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Or equivalent work experience
· •10 years of overall professional experience
•8 years experience in full lifecycle software systems development
•8 years focus in functional, data, and system analysis
