Software Quality Assurance QA Engineer

 

Job Overview: 

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will perform numerous essential duties for the Business Systems Development and E-Commerce Systems Development teams.  The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will perform code review, branch testing, functional testing, capacity testing, test lab code deployment as well as planning, development and implementation of test tools resulting in higher quality systems and the reduction in defects and errors in production environments.

 

Responsibilities:Develops, publishes, and implements test plans. Writes and maintains test automation for web and application functional testing. Develops quality assurance standards.Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.Develops performance standards.Coordinates functional test teams.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics.

·  Two to four years related experience and/or training.

·  Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.Working proficiency with the Microsoft Windows, Linux, or Sun Solaris Unix platforms.Experience programming in Perl, Mod-Perl, Bash, Java, Ruby, or Microsoft Dynamics AXSystem administration of RedHat Linux servers (optional)Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.Ability to adapt to a fast-changing work environment and multi-task with many time-critical issues.Ability to participate as a team member or individually in high priority short time-frame projects is essential.Highly motivated and self-directed.A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
