Position Summary

As Senior Web Developer you will be the technical lead on some projects, working to create new websites, update existing websites, as well as provide technical leadership, feedback, and oversight for all technical initiatives undertaken.  As such, you will need to excel in all components of the web development skill set including; HTML, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, Tea template integration with Content Management
System, slicing layered Photoshop files, site maintenance and troubleshooting.  The Senior Web Developer must be able to lead technical development of a project, provide leadership in critical thinking, communication, team and project management, and documentation.

 

Individuals selected will be expected to be able to drive project initiatives, as well as provide technical architecture oversight, communicate technical decisions and processes, as well as manage client and business expectations.  This candidate should be able to deliver projects successfully and on time with little oversight required.

 

Very special individuals for these positions are also expected to constantly improve production delivery techniques, and the ability to help standardize than process and improve upon it.  Senior Web Developers are called upon to develop new technologies for planned and/or existing sites, and to integrate technology into these sits.  Must have exceptional technical skills, proven people and team management skills and communication skills.

 

QualificationsExpert in JSP, with practical use and experience in PHP and/or ASP (or similar object-oriented server-side scripting languages)Proven ability to work with and provide leadership to all members of a diverse project teamContent Management System ArchitectExperience drafting requirements and functional specificationsProven ability to lead technical projects and technical teamsExtensive structured programming experienceAbility to multi-task and manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneouslyExperience with leading geographically separated projects and teams a plus

 

Specific Skills Required5 or more years of web development, including expertise in DHTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript and at least one of the following:  ASP/JSP/PHP or a similar object oriented server-side scripting languageStrong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical issues to a diverse non-technical audienceStrong troubleshooting skills2 or more years experience leading teams and projectsExperience writing technical specifications and driving them through development
