Staff Supervisor Needed for Growing Media Company!

Legacy.com, Inc. is a 10 year-old online media company, financially strong, and growing at 25% per year.  Legacy.com is the leader in online memorialization and has a growing presence in additional verticals including pets, public notices and celebrations. We serve an international network of 500+ newspapers, including 45 of the largest 50 markets in the United States.

We have a diverse and talented team of employees who come to us from many kinds of backgrounds. We're searching for a bright, ambitious daytime supervisor to manage a team of 30+ part-time telecommuting expert readers. Five-day workweek must include one weekend day. The position provides great potential for career growth in a friendly, team-oriented environment.

 

ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance and direction to team members, (most of whom are college educated, and many have advanced degrees) including setting performance standards and monitoring performanceEvaluate performance of team members; recommend personnel actions according to policy and proceduresMonitor the time management, mood and morale of team membersPlan, prepare, and revise work schedules and duty assignments according to problems, work-load, and employee skillMaintain a productive work environmentOrient new team members concerning policy and procedures, work rules and performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and trainingMaintain knowledge of company product lines, services and policies; communicate this knowledge in a clear, logical, professional mannerInterview candidates for employment and make recommendations for hiring Assist in other areas as needed, including back-up production work

RequirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; good active listening skillsDecisiveness, sensitivity and judgmentDemonstrated attention to detailWorking knowledge of Internet, MS Windowns, Word, Excel, and OutlookAt least one year of experience supervising people in an office settingEnjoy working with team members in a collaborative environment
