Systems Engineer - Project Manager

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to work within a team of project management and video production systems and engineering professionals. This individual will be responsible for managing the development, implementation, coordination and installation of systems projects. Successful incumbent will have strong project management, organizational, and communications skills. The position can be located in any of our Eastern Region locations (NJ, ATL, FL) or home office. Job Responsibilities: Develop statements of work, specifications, project objectives, and accurate estimates of project costs and timelines Manage Systems Installation projects from beginning to end driving towards and meeting project milestones and deadlines Communicate with customers on a consistent and regular basis informing them of project status and ensuring high-level of customer satisfaction Supervise in-house staff of engineers including hourly and sub contractors throughout the systems installation Assign project tasks and monitor and verify work effort of others according to project requirements Perform tasks as needed to support the project time line Ensure project objectives are achieved within cost, time and risk parameters Provide Pre & Post technical support for both new and existing projects Design and generate proposals Requirements: B.A./B.S. degree, or equivalent educational certificate/experience General PC knowledge and experience in MS Office applications (i.e.; MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 3-5 years project management and system design experience within the Broadcast industry Previous experience working in a matrix and multiple location organization Excellent communication and presentation skills Experience working with upper level management Self-motivator with a history of meeting and exceeding given deadlines Strong multi-functional and cross-functional focus Ability to maintain strong partnerships with customers, systems integrators and the field Sales organization in both pre- and post-sales activities Must be able to travel 50% to 80% of the time Grass Valley is an equal opportunity employer, makes employment decisions on the basis of merit, and is in compliance with all applicable laws providing equal employment opportunities.
