Technical Leader, ISS Technology

CITY: Universal City STATE: CaliforniaCOUNTRY: USAEssential Functions (Responsibilities):This position will be responsible for managing outages and providing technical solutions in enterprise hosting environments during off hours. In addition, this role is also responsible for supporting highly available and scalable IIS and SSO environments as well as establishing best operational practices for IIS and SSO platforms.The hours for this position are M-F, 6PM-2AM.Lead and participate in outage management activity during Pacific Time off hours. Analyze Traffic data utilizing packet/protocol analyzer tools such as Optnet, sniffer and ethereal.Manage Big IP load balancer administration and problem resolution.Manage Root Cause Analysis and drive Corrective ActionsManage client priorities and expectations by establishing agreed service levels. Assist in the mentoring and coaching of team members.Troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to environment related issues encountered by new and existing applications in the environment.Actively monitor the hosting environment to increase efficiency, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses.Responsible for supporting projects as a technical lead, providing design and implementation standards to team members.Drive efficiencies through automation and operational excellence. Demonstrate a strong sense of internal customer satisfaction as a top priority. Provide on-going communication of status of projects, Root Cause Analysis and solution implementation.Create a positive, supportive, and team-focused working environment.Play a proactive role in developing and applying "Best in Class" approaches/practices to our operational readiness.Partner with the Build Technology team to establish sound handoffs and detailed documentation standards before new builds are accepted into the production environment. Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelors degreeMinimum 5 years technical experience in infrastructure and hosting technologies. Traffic Management: Minimum 2 years of configuration and administration experience in Big IP.Web Hosting: In-depth product knowledge and at least 5 years of hands on experience in configuring and trouble shooting IIS and .net environment.Eligibility Requirements:Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be considered (note job#: 813892). Networking: Product knowledge and understanding of Cisco switches, routers, routing protocols including 802.11b networks, FTP, firewalls, cache flow and net appliance proxies, DNS, and various streaming media protocols. Tools: 2+ years of sniffer trace analysis with Optnet or ethereal tool.Working experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 devicesChampion organizational changes and creates an environment where people willingly participate in initiatives, programs and NBC Universal community.
