Tour- Guide entertainment company

Reporting to the Director, Visitor Services, this position is responsible for managing the guided tour center.

Specific responsibilities include:




Tour Development:

 

Develop and implement new tours; i.e.  Self-guided tour / Wi-Fi tour.

Develop and implement an evaluation system with national and international tour operators as well as individual group leaders.




Tour Management:




Organize and schedule daily public, group and special tours (seven days per week)

Coordinate daily tours with all other venues at 

Supervise tour desk assistants. Manage and schedule up to 30 tour guides.

Develop innovative, real-time training program for tour guides.

Attend tour guide contract negotiation meetings.

Interview and evaluate current and prospective tour guides.




Tour Financials:Manage departmental budget.

Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tour desk productivity reports.

 

Compute and track sick and vacation days for staff and guides.

Responsible for billing.







REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:




Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interface effectively with the public on a day-to-day basis.

Ability to work varied hours, including weekends.

Adapt to handling a variety of tasks simultaneously.

Must be extremely organized and detail oriented.

Experience in the tourism and hospitality industry a plus.

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel.
