Job Summary:

 

The VP, Engineering-Web Systems is responsible for the technical direction and development of Sezmi's advertising, Internet video, and content programming systems.  The position is also responsible for the development and operation of the Internet consumer components of the service.  This position will be responsible for defining, building and managing a development organization to execute on these product areas. The VP, Engineering-Web Systems will partner and collaborate closely with the other engineering groups, marketing, content operations and advertising teams. 

 

 

Responsibilities:Technical strategy and execution for key elements of groundbreaking television service, including but not limited to;End to end video advertising solutionInternet consumer components of Sezmi service Systems and tools for content programming of the Sezmi serviceOversee all aspects of development for production interfaces to content management systems, asset management, and web content systemsOversee development and implementation of company’s proprietary “zone” interface Manage development of web products for Sezmi service to include product portal site and Corporate websiteExtend existing teams to create and retain world class development organization As required, work with outsourced teams to execute on development planWork across company to align with and reinforce best practices for development, production of operations of service systemsEstablish development strategies and prioritiesIdentify and manage external technology vendors and partners

Qualifications:15+ years industry experience.  BSCS, MSCS or PhDDirect experience in IP driven web video platforms for large scale consumer servicesExpert in content delivery network and web application development technologies.Proven track record of building and maintaining environments with an emphasis on high capacity broadband content delivery.Extensive experience building and delivering commercial Internet content applications that sustain revenue generating businesses and serve a large number of users.Fluency across a range of technology platforms with experience designing large Internet applications..Must have a proven track record delivering products on time and in keeping with high quality standards.Ability to thrive in a startup environment.Must have a deep understanding of full life-cycle web software projects.Must have the ability to attract top talent, motivate, cultivate and develop a team as the organization grows.Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills4-5 years in senior engineering management (Sr. Director/VP Engineering) role
