VP, Internet Strategy and Development

Primary Responsibility:
This position is responsible for managing the network's consumer Internet presence including strategy, content, broadband, revenue generation, site development and day to day operations. This role is a combination of "publisher", who runs the business side of the operation, and "editor-in-chief", who drives the creative material for Versus online. The role of the network's Web site is to extend and reinforce the network brand, connect with sports and competition fans, and provide added value to network advertisers and affiliates and generate incremental revenue where appropriate. The creative experience of Versus online (at Versus.com and other online touchpoints) must be unique, complementary, and additive to what prospective users can get at more established, competitive websites as well as league websites.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for network Internet strategy, content and traffic to maximize potential of the Web site as it relates to branding, support of network programming, viewer loyalty and network sales and affiliate support.
- In collaboration with Versus programming and production team, develop and implement creative, brand-driven video and editorial content across multiple sports and competiton genres, including but not limited to the NHL, mixed martial arts, collegiate sports, professional bull riding, pro cycling, hunting, and fishing.
- Develop strategies for integrating VERSUS' digital assets into network Web site
- Manage Web site operations including day to day edit and technical
- Marketing of Web site using network resources to meet traffic growth targets
- Directly responsible for preparation of and adhering to Web site budget
- Responsible for acquiring and publishing network online video for broadband channel
- Work with CNS setting Internet sales budgets, assisting in developing ad packages and managing all online advertising operations
- Monetize broadband assets online where rights allow
- Manage online relationships including overseeing legal agreements.
- Liaison with Comcast.net in support of major network initiatives including supplying video content
- Represent network's online initiatives with press and within industry

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements (Education, Skills, Experience)
- Bachelor's degree; Master's Degree preferred
- 7+ years related experience in Internet production and editorial (including video) management with sports background
- 3+ years in senior management role and ability to function as a senior strategist with key members of Versus management team
- Creative instinct, experience, skills and initiative to deliver compelling editorial and content
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and proven ability to motivate and manage creative and editorial staff
- Solid analytical skills to build and track Internet department budgets
- Strong management orientation with significant experience setting and achieving time sensitive goals and developing and implementing multiple projects
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Excellent executive-level present
- Working knowledge of legal and technical aspects of Web site development and operations
- Internet advertising sales experience a plus
