The Business Development Representative directly generates revenue by selling products and services to new customers within an assigned territory through direct, face-to-face contact. Usually reports to a Territory Manager. The BDR is responsible for generating annual revenues of $280 to $350 thousand.


 

1. Sells products and services to new customers in an assigned geographic area to achieve or exceed assigned revenue objectives:
-- Contacts and visits prospective customers to determine product/services needs and performs sales presentations to match company's products with identified needs.
-- Sells products through face-to-face contact.
-- Remains knowledgeable of company's products to facilitate sales efforts.
-- Maintains sales records and prepares sales reports as required.

 

2. Responsible for generating annual revenues of $280 to $350 thousand.

3. Customers include (but are not limited to) retailers, restaurants, hotels, gas stations, service companies, and any business who takes credit and debit cards as a form of payment. Customers are typically mid to regional sized. They may have multiple locations.


 


1. Education/Experience
-- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
-- 3-5 years sales or business development experience
2. Skills or Special Abilities
-- Proven success in outside sales and/or proven success in business to business (B2B) sales.
-- Ability to generate own sales leads, through any combination of cold-calling (face to face and/or over the phone), networking, customers referrals, research and
-- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
