Accounts Payable Specialist

Epko Industries, a national wall covering distributor, is seeking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist at our corporate office in Elk Grove, IL. 



Job Purpose:

Coordinate and perform all aspects of the accounts payable cycle and provide various general accounting support. Look to refine flow of information and insure expenditures are properly authorized before paid. Follow up on vendor inquires in a timely fashion.



Duties:Code expenses to the proper general ledger accounts. Matching of vendor invoices to purchase orders. Input invoices into the account payable software on a timely basis so vendors are paid within vendor terms and discounts are appropriately taken. Print checks as required and prepare for mailing checks to ensure timely payment Handle vendor inquiries in a business-like manner and on a timely basis. Maintain effective communications and good working relationships with co-workers. Confidentiality is a must in this position. Review current accounts payable procedures and offer alternatives to improve process.Work on developing plan to fully utilize resources in the Department. Strong organizational skills are a must in this fast paced environment.

 

Skills:

Minimum 4-6 years accounts payable experience. Supervisory experience desired.  Detail oriented, good communication skills, good organizational skills, confidentiality, Excel, Word, General math skills
