Through these service areas, Deloitte FAS provides such services as: forensic and litigation consulting; corporate investigations; technology risk assessments; electronic data recovery/evidence management; transaction advisory services for acquisitions, divestitures and recapitalizations; business valuation; and restructuring. The specialized skill sets, deep industry knowledge, and experience of our dedicated Deloitte FAS professionals, combined with the resources of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT) member firms, enable us to respond quickly to the complex and diverse needs of our clients. We are seeking qualified candidates to join the Analytic & Forensic Technology ("AFT") practice. Analytic & Forensic Technology ("AFT") utilizes technologically advanced computer labs and cutting-edge software to offer new, innovative solutions to clients' complex legal problems. We navigate IT systems for evidence of malfeasance, such as information deletion, policy violations or unauthorized access. Today's business environment generates vast amounts of data and information, and almost all of this information is captured and stored in computerized form. AFT helps litigators and investigators understand this electronic data and put it into context. AFT engagements focus on complex domestic and international litigations and investigations in areas as diverse as SEC Inquiries, M&A Due Diligence and Litigation, Corporate Fraud, Class Action Lawsuits, Anti-Money Laundering, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act…just to name a few. Our clients include Fortune 500 companies in the financial services and banking sectors, pharmaceutical, aerospace, telecommunications and other industries, as well as many of the most highly regarded law firms in the country. Qualified will be responsible for the following: Associates will gather, standardize, and analyze voluminous transactional electronic data (e.g., banking records, general ledgers, broker-dealer records, sales and inventory data, etc.). Associates can expect to: • Create, manage, and utilize high performance relational databases using SQL Server, Microsoft Access, OLAP and other proprietary software. • Query and mine large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examine financial data and filter for targeted information. • Design data entry screens, perform data quality control, develop database reports and user interfaces, and normalize relational data. AFT team members collaborate with attorneys, forensic accountants, clients, and other investigators to produce analyses in support of an investigation. This is not a "back-office programmer" position; this is front-line client interaction with tremendous opportunity for growth and advancement. Candidates should have experience mining and analyzing transactional electronic data. Candidates should also have an undergraduate degree in one or more of the following from an accredited college/university: 1. A dual major/minor combination including Computer Science or Management Information Systems and Business (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Statistics). 2. Electrical or other related Engineering disciplines. 3. Management Information Systems. 4. Mathematics. Competency with one or more of the following strengthens an Associate application: • Microsoft SQL Server (*), • Microsoft Access, • Microsoft Visual Basic, • Oracle, • OLAP tools, and • SQL, SQL+, SQR, PLSQL. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Incoming professionals should expect at least 50% travel.
