Cision is currently seeking an Applications Support Developer for our downtown Chicago office to maintain, support and develop Visual Basic based applications interacting with SQL Server databases. The Developer will also assist in migrating and upgrading customers from VB applications to .Net applications. .Net experience is not required, but very beneficial as Cision is moving to C# .Net development. Eventually, Cision plans to migrate all applications to .Net development. The ideal candidate will be able to learn new applications quickly and work independently to deliver high quality solutions.

Responsibilities:Application, database, and reporting developmentMonitoring, debugging, resolving production and QA application issuesDefining client requirements and turning these requirements into deliverablesCoding changes across multiple systemsManaging and developing application databasesDesign and develop modules for Cision s systems and applicationsMaintain application code, including debugging processes and enhancement requestsAbility to work on system level solutionsUnderstanding of the core business function(s) of the companyAssisting senior team members in design specifications

Job Requirements:4+ years experience programming in ASP/COM and/or VisualBasic 6.04+ years SQL Server and/or database maintenance experience including stored procedures, jobs, data loading, tuning, complex queries and modificationsEnterprise and web based application development experienceSolutions based on Windows 2000 or 2003 Server and IISDemonstrated experience with development application and database troubleshootingExperience with XML/XSLExperience with .NET development, ASP.Net, C# or VB.Net a very strong plusExperience with object oriented programming a plusBachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience
