Appointment Clerk

Category:  MS Type:  Part-Time SCA Description:  Schedule appointments for primary care and specialty clinics. Educate patents regarding any medical preparation prior to their reporting for appointments and laboratory tests. Educate patients regarding eligibility requirements, any treatments authorized, and the availability of medical facilities. Assure all forms and required paperwork have been completed as required.
Exercise tact, diplomacy, respect, and consideration in all dealings with patients, staff, and various outside representatives. Maintain clinic and patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA directives.
Requirements:  A High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Knowledge of commonly used medical terminology.
Prior customer services experience in a medical clinic or hospital is preferred.
Experience in the use of the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) preferred.
