Assistant Director Project Management-Ethics & Compliance - New York - 00J4B
This position will work within the Ethics & Compliance team of our Quality & Risk Management practice. This individual contributor will work with all areas of the organization to plan complex projects, including preparing project plans providing for identification of resources, establishing reasonable deadlines, and outlining action steps to be taken. This individual will also direct the development and maintenance of project plans related to CPA Licensing, Federal and State Lobbying and Risk Assessment, evaluating and reporting on project progress and recommending process improvements when necessary. He/she plans and prepares the project budget and management of expenditures in order to operate within the approved budget. Responsibilities Demonstrate an advanced understanding of project scope, scheduling, planning, time management, resource management, communication management, and cost management. Create, develop, and manage the project scope and schedule for complex projects. Plan and assign resources to associated tasks and deliverables as appropriate. Manage resources and tasks based on the project plan. Define what is necessary and be responsible for creating and maintaining project documentation (reporting, meeting minutes, etc.) for complex projects. Identify risks, costs, resources, and dependencies and plan strategies to address them. Align the project with firm and organizational strategy for complex projects. Take a leadership role; act as a facilitator and mentor. Develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders; manage project stakeholder expectations; negotiate with and influence project sponsors on project-specific items. Explain difficult concepts and issues and persuade others to adopt a point of view; anticipate and communicate ramifications of decisions and issues to project stakeholders. To qualify, candidates must have: A bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience Approximately 8-10 years of experience in project management related to Risk Assessment Experience with MS Office and Lotus Notes (knowledge or creating databases would be preferred) Understanding of Web Development Experience with Internal Audit, Risk Assessment or Compliance a plus The ideal candidate would be in client serving and interested in making a change. *Note this position is located in New York but will move to Secaucus, NJ at some point.
