Position Summary:
The Associate System Administrator position is an integral part of EthicsPoint. Therefore, the ideal candidate will demonstrate superior attention to detail, the ability to follow directions, the ability to solve simple to complicated problems, excellent analytical skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and excellent technical skills.
This position is primarily responsible for providing all levels of technical support to corporate users, installing and configuring new hardware and software and maintaining server updates and backups.
Essential Functions:
Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems.
· Install, configure, and set up new hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Install and upgrade current hardware and software systems when needed.
· Provide guidance to users when operating hardware, software, and peripherals.
· Participate in team collaboration and strategic planning efforts Maintain Active Directory, including OU, Groups, Shares, DNS and DHCP setup. Responsible for domain/NT account and user administration.
· Maintain all servers and PC’s with latest Microsoft patches and updates.
· Maintain network security and backups
· Help monitor and enforce IT policies and procedures
· Manage relationships with third party vendors
· Interact with other IT staff, developers, contractors, managers, system users and softwarehardware vendors on a day to day basis.
· Responsible for day to day support activities, including device evaluation, creation and management of efficient device management architectures, facilitating compatibility testing, management of end-user devices, anti-virus and anti-spyware activities, technical consultations, and providing end-user device support to all levels of the corporation. Project management (projects created or assigned) and project support (participant in someone else’s project).
· Drive resolution of compatibility issues by providing technical guidance and working with vendors when product modifications are required.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years prior technical support or related work experience, preferably in a fast paced environment 1-2 years of working knowledge in Active Directory MCP, MCSA, or MCSE preferred Experience with Microsoft Security Patching
· VMWare Experience is a plus.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
· Ability to Install Proprietary and Third Party Software Tools
· Excellent Customer Service Skills
· Excellent decision making skills, especially when insufficient information is available.
· Ability to learn new applications
· Ability to work and manage tight deadlines
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Maintain confidentiality of restricted or private information, and effectively handle sensitive matters
· Excellent organizational and communications skills (both oral and written)
· Flexibility to work independently and within a team environment
· Ability to pass criminal background check and other screenings as required
