Billing & Eligibility Representative (Health Plans/Pension)

Zenith Administrators is a large, national third party benefits administrator committed to consistently meeting or exceeding our client expectations.  We provide a full range of benefit administrative services for multi-employer, single employer and public employee benefit plans.  We are currently seeking an experienced health care plan Billing & Eligibility Representative for our downtown San Francisco office.

 

You will independently handle eligibility reports and maintenance, provide customer service and act as a resource for other billing and eligibility staff.  Duties include:

- preparing weekly batches of contribution reports and reviewing and correcting discrepancies

- keying and balancing employer contribution report data

- reviewing eligibility reports for accuracy

- updating monthly changes for Plan participants related to benefits and enrollment information

- researching and handling plan rules and benefit questions

- contacting providers for eligibility verifications as necessary

- serving as primary customer service contact in the department for assigned account(s) and back-up to non-assigned accounts

- performing administration of COBRA related functions, including generating initial COBRA notices and correspondence, and posting and tracking payments

- distributing and updating enrollment cards

- coordinating all aspects of health plan open enrollments

- handling multiple rate accounts

- handling accounts with pension as well as health and welfare eligibility

- handling accounts with reciprocity agreements

- preparing telephone customer service, member enrollment, COBRA administration, and contribution report reconciliation for assigned groups

 

Qualified candidates must have:

-  High school diploma or equivalent

-  two years of billing and eligibility experience in a related business such as TPA or union office

-  ability to type 45 wpm and use a 10-key calculator by touch

-  ability to perform basic math functions

-  good attention to detail

-  the ability to interact effectively with others

-  clear communication skills, both oral and written

-  previous work experience in a health claims office and knowledge of medical and dental claims is preferred

-  bilingual in English/Spanish is strongly preferred

-  knowledge of pension plan administration is also preferred
