BUDGET ANALYST

 

 

ABOUT US:

 

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is a prime contractor for the U. S. Navy's Nuclear Propulsion Program.  We provide design, manufacturing and procurement management for the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation and field support of high quality nuclear power plant components.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The BPMI budget analyst is responsible for organizing, developing, analyzing, and maintaining multiple budgetary forecasts and control mechanisms to support technical and business segments at BPMI and the Customer.  Duties include:

 Ensuring accurate contract cost control.Application of funding guidance and policy to technical work scope requirements.Development of long range budgets and forecasts.Budget and risk analysis.Preparing reports to communicate financial status of contracts.Presentations to BPMI management and customer personnel.Earned Value Management.Cross-functional coordination and collaboration with line department personnel.Provide organizational training on budget and cost control techniques and mechanisms.Occasional travel (less than 5%)

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education / Training: BS in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent; or MBA

 

Experience: Two (2) or more years of professional work experience dealing with business related functions.

 

Experience with or substantial knowledge of most of the following areas:

 Understanding of project management core competencies.Budget planning and analysis.Project cost control mechanisms / Earned Value Management.Risk analysisDepartment of Defense experience a plus.

 

Skills / Abilities:

 Analytical and problem solving skills. Project management ad earned value management skills. Strong computer skills including use of spreadsheet tools. Develop, present, and explain financial / business decisions. Prioritize work and handle shifting priorities to meet hard deadlines. Strong interrelationship skills and the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Leadership and project planning / execution abilities.

 

Must be a U.S. citizen.  Applicants selected must complete a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
