Business Analyst---Financial Reporting

Business Analyst--Financial ReportingSUMMARY

 

The role of the Financial Reporting Business Analyst is to support the product development life cycle of the Computershare suite of products that include financial reporting functionality. The role entails performing complex analysis of business goals, objectives and needs of both the regulatory and CPM and CPS business environments as if relates specifically to financial reporting.  Analysts will develop and refine requirements, coordinate with business units and CTS development to establish deliverables and make recommendations and/or changes in order to improve and support overall CPU business’s customer retention and product offering objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Business Requirements and Functional Specifications

 Gather business requirements for new or existing financial reporting feature changes from CPM and CPS Business unitsTranslate high level business requirements into functional specifications that can be used by development for codingProvide pertinent examples within the scope of the functional specifications that can be used to proof coding as well as provide for QA test case developmentCoordinate with Development, Account Managers and Business Unit Owners to chart development roadmaps with mutually agreed upon feature sets and timelines for future releasesProvide subject matter expertise to QA, Info Dev, and Development as neededStrive to equalize the financial reporting feature sets within the EO and TWP product offerings

 

Compliance Research / Industry Involvement

 Monitor regulatory updates appropriately documenting what changes may be required functionally within CPU applications to accommodate new/modified regulationsAssist business units in marketing and establishing connections with outside financial reporting advisorsAttend pertinent meetings and internal trainings as required to keep knowledge current, i.e. NASPP events, Strategic Council, etc.Assist in assess market needs based upon client interactions thereby allowing for appropriate feature development prioritizationPresent at industry events as opportunities and schedules allowEstablish and leverage contacts with consulting firms within the industry to further develop both CTS knowledge as well as additional business opportunities with common clients.

 

Education

 Prepare and assist in delivering scenario-based training both internally and externally as it relates to new financial reporting functionality being introduced Review and update financial reporting webinar content to be in synch with new releases of EO and TWPConduct paid financial reporting and product and industry content webinars, as neededProvide “best practice” information to client baseConduct Free Smarts sessions in conjunction with Marketing, as needed, outlining upcoming functionality and best practices

 

Consulting

 Provide consultative “for-fee” assistance, primarily on-site, with the reconciliation of reports and validation of SOP financial reporting data upon request of the CPM and CPS business units for their end user clientsAbility to travel ranging from 25% - 75% of the time can expected

 

Quality Assurance

 Assist in the development of and review of QA cycle test casesParticipate in QA testing cycles as appropriateEnter defect and enhancement requests into tracking systems as required

 

Documentation

 Ongoing review of current financial reporting (EO and TWP) user documentation as well as provide content and literary review of financial reporting client friendly documentation posted to Solutions CentralAnalysis of and creation of documentation outlining key differences between major versions and differing CPU product offeringsPopulate Find Answers knowledgebase with relevant content relating to financial reporting

 

Sales Support

 Participate in product demonstrations for prospects concerned specifically with financial reporting as deemed necessaryProvide input into the RPF process for financial reporting as requiredAssist in providing training to Sales teams on new features/regulations and how to respond to client/prospect questions

 

Additional Support Services

 Act as a SME for escalated support/client issues that originate either in Support Services or are escalated by the CPM Financial Reporting Director or CPS Business Unit Manager.  This would include assisting in the direct troubleshooting of issues, clarification of functional specifications and participation in client conference call as deemed necessaryAssist in the development of standard methodology for financial reporting reconciliationsAssist Implementation teams with financial reporting reconciliations as deemed appropriateAssist in supporting the financial reporting implementations of new high profile clients

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position has no supervisory responsibilities.
