The Business Development (BD) Executive's primary role is to drive results for clients, the account team and the firm. Focusing on Priority Accounts, this individual conducts rigorous account planning and management and works with an account team to drive anchor relationships across the client's organization to ensure client satisfaction. This includes leveraging Ernst & Young's key initiatives and cross-functional services for new business opportunities within the account. The BD Executive is accountable for revenue results. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record for developing relationships at the C level of complex accounts. This position will be based in our Cleveland, OH office. Responsibilities Own the business development/pursuit process. Lead in both formulating account strategy and executing the plan. Work with the client service partner and participate throughout the client, engagement life cycle and the firm's Assessment of Service Quality (ASQ) program. Share knowledge and leading practices within the area and the firm. Conduct the following client facing activities: initiate, build and sustain client relationships; negotiate and participate in pricing strategy; resolve concerns; ensure client satisfaction; and pursue new business opportunities. Conduct the following internal activities: develop an account strategy and plan; conduct account team meetings and provide coaching; manage business development efforts; own and manage the pipeline; work with business operations to oversee the development of proposals and touchpoint campaigns; and direct and lead account coordinators on their assigned accounts. Leverage the firm's key initiatives and cross-functional services for clients and new business opportunities to grow revenue in alignment with the firm's strategy. To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree 10+ years of business development experience in the professional services and solutions arena 5+ years of business development management experience in the professional services and solutions arena a proven record for selling complex services and solutions at the C level of Fortune 500 companies a proven track record of success in a solutions-oriented, professional services environment team selling experience a seasoned understanding of the marketplace/industry, competitive and account information and the ability to team with and influence technical partners to serve the client the ability to work within a matrix organization while balancing the client's needs with the firm's and service lines' initiatives and goals strong influencing skills to work with technical partners and operations staff in order to get the right resources to serve the client strong ability to make decisions, such as prioritizing relationships to develop, negotiating with clients (external and internal), and overcoming obstacles with minimal supervision; the ability to make independent decisions when appropriate and necessaryAs this position involves responding to clients' needs, extended hours are regularly required.
