We are currently seeking a strong candidate to fill a Research Analyst position within the Ernst & Young Center for Business Knowledge (CBK). This professional will primarily focus on supporting the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) and Strategic Growth Markets (SGM) teams in North America through the provision of business research and analysis. This professional will interact with a local and virtual team of CBK colleagues and use an extensive collection of internal and external information resources to gather, filter, synthesize, analyze, package and deliver information to executives and the firm's leadership. This person will participate in and manage research projects, including the design and delivery of products and services in response to customer needs. In this fast paced environment, juggling multiple projects that have varying turnaround times from a few hours to a number of days is the norm. Responsibilities Business Research and Analysis Support the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) and Strategic Growth Markets (SGM) practice groups in North America, bringing first class skills to each project undertaken, including skills in the following areas: financial analysis, writing, research, customer service, marketing and an understanding of mergers & acquisitions. Lead and perform secondary research and analysis using available and appropriate tools and resources within the research analyst's domain. Manage the design and delivery of products and services in response to customer needs, including: performing secondary research requests using sophisticated search strategies; conducting primary research to supplement Provide insight by developing quantitative models utilizing financial metrics and other data to test key assertions in firm Thought Leadership and point of view reports. Analyse financial, transaction and other quantitative, leveraging strong Excel skills. Translate complex, strategic or undefined business needs into integrated knowledge solutions, delving into the primary reason for the request and managing expectations of the requestor. Work independently or participate on project teams to provide research in response to requests, primarily from internal E&Y practitioners. Build collaborative relationships with requesters as well as TAS and SGM leadership. Promote the sharing of leveraged knowledge and information resources across the firm through regular customer networking. Knowledge Navigation Respond to requests and inquiries via the CBK Knowledge Help Line and other customer channelsEffectively discuss with customers their knowledge needs, discern requirements, provide context and set expectations. Assist E&Y practitioners in finding information via internally available knowledgebases and sources. Assist customers in identifying knowledge tools to meet their needs and coach them on their use. Share leading practices with colleagues. EducationBachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience Master's degree in Business Administration or Library Science is preferred Experience5 ' 7 years experience, preferably in a corporate information services environment Proficiency in major research products and services (e.g. Factiva, Lexis-Nexis, Dialog, Thomson Research) and extensive experience with either Bloomberg, FactSet or Capital IQ Experience in quantitative analytics, especially using excel. A working knowledge of the professional services market is preferred SkillsExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills The ability to effectively complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Excellent problem solving and analytic skills A strong work ethic and desire to excel Proficient with MS Office, particularly MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
