Our Business Risk Services (BRS) practice, a specialty advisory practice within Assurance & Advisory Business Services, provides comprehensive risk services through a suite of strategic, outsourcing, and industry-focused operational solutions that help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their internal audit and risk management functions. BRS provides strategic and technical accounting assistance to companies seeking expertise in the conversions to/from US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). We seek a consummate team player with a strong work ethic and excellent professional skills for the role of BRS Manager. This professional will serve as an advisor providing technical expertise and project management assistance on the development of financial reporting processes and controls. You will examine the impact of IFSR/GAAP conversion and the related issues to the client's current processes and risk management strategy. ResponsibilitiesWork with high-growth clients and other market leaders in industries such as retail, consumer products, financial services, insurance and health sciences. Research implications to new financial reporting protocols, corporate governance, and disclosure guidance. Compare and identify IFRS/US GAAP differences along with its impact to current local accounting procedures. Assist companies in understanding and documenting changes in accounting policy. Support EY audit teams in the audit of financial statements, remedy of technical issues, and training of personnel. Maintain a strong client focus by effectively serving client needs and developing productive working relationships with client personnel. Stay abreast of current business and economic developments and new pronouncements/standards relevant to the client's business. Display teamwork, integrity and leadership. Work with team members to set goals and responsibilities for specific engagements. Foster teamwork and innovation.Utilize technology and tools to continually learn and innovate, share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery.Understand EY and its service lines. Actively encourage team members to contribute ideas and identify potential opportunities to apply EY's services. To qualify, candidates must have:a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field; MBA preferred a minimum of 5 years of related audit or applicable business experience; 2 or more years of public accounting experience preferred a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience would be acceptable for those holding a relevant graduate degree strong knowledge in US GAAP and IFRS previous financial leadership on major project teams (prior conversion experience necessary) CPA/CA, CIA, CISA, CFE, CMA, RICS APC, PMP or CCIM certification desired; non-certified hires are required to become certified within 1 year from the date of hire; based on an individual's professional background, area of expertise, or industry focus, we recognize that other certifications, credentials, or experience may be more relevant than the listed certifications and therefore may be acceptable substitutes with written consent of EY's Area and Americas BRS leadership strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethic strong skills in project management and engagement closure experience and interest in recruiting and professional development proficiency with MS Office and Lotus NotesSuccessful candidates must be available to travel as needed within and outside of the U.S. and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.
