Case Manager - Consumer Advocate

National Grid/KeySpan Energy DeliveryConsumer AdvocacyMetrotech, Brooklyn NY Consumer Advocate is responsible for managing a client caseload of low-income and/or special needs households enrolled in KeySpan Energy Delivery special needs programs. The advocate addresses individual client needs and provides follow up on all social service referrals. This position requires extensive collaboration with community human service providers to meet the needs of clientsRESPONSIBILITIES:- for individual clients, perform intake interviews, develop and implement treatment plans, and maintain case files- provide referrals to social service agencies- work with team members on other assigned special projects- Conduct county-wide Outreach promoting KeySpan programs.SPECIAL SKILLS AND/OR REQUIREMENTS:Must have:- Master’s Degree in Social Work preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required- A thorough knowledge of government entitlements- Two years experience in social services (graduate work placements may be counted toward work experience).- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills.- A driver’s license in good standing.- Bi-lingual Spanish Must be:- Willing to meet with clients in their homes when required- Willing to travel within NYC - PC literate and willing to learn various Company mainframe applications.- Have the ability to speak to large groups- Have the ability to work independently and be capable of working on multiple tasks concurrently.
