STAR Anesthesia, P.A., is a physician medical group that provides anesthesia services throughout San Antonio and several regional medical facilities. STAR Anesthesia is comprised of more than 90 physicians operating from six separate divisions to provide anesthesia coverage to our patients.



Our physicians have been part of the San Antonio medical community for over 25 years. We provide anesthesiologists to each hospital and ambulatory surgery center in the community. 

STAR Anesthesia, P.A. seeks to add a full-time certified coder to its coding team.

Position Responsibilities Include: 



Reviewing Physician documentation to facilitate billing process
Verbal Cash pay quotes
Receiving and Posting Payments
Answering Physician questions concerning charges, proper documentation and billing.
Assist department with questions regarding denials or appeals.




Qualifications
Certified in coding by AAPC or AHIMA.
2-4 years of coding experience at a healthcare entity or billing agency.
Good interpersonal and writing skills.
Working knowledge of CPT, and ICD 9.
Ability to research coding-related policies and issues using the Internet
• Experienced with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to be supportive and work as a team player.
