The primary objective of the technician is to provide technical support for linen service operations, which are: sorting, washing, drying, pressing, ironing, folding, and packaging of goods. Many of these operations are carried out by modern automated production equipment. Secondarily, the maintenance tech will provide technical support for facility systems which are: boiler, plant air compressor, steam plant, HVAC, lighting, fire protection equipment, building & grounds, general housekeeping, painting, landscaping, etc.Shift schedule: Monday-Friday; 3:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Occasional weekend work and/or overtime will be required.The ideal candidate will have extensive skills, training and experience in the following disciplines: Automated Systems: Motion Control Systems; Process Control Systems; PLC's; Electro-mechanical controls. Electrical Systems: Single-phase & Three-phase; AC/DC; NEC; Circuit Protection; Motors & Drives. Reading schematics and blue-prints. Mechanical skills; machine troubleshooting & repair. Facility maintenance and general building operations. Fluid power systems: Hydraulic; Pneumatic; Steam. HVAC Systems. Preventive Maintenance: Cleaning; Lubricating; Inspecting; Adjusting. Boiler plant and steam heat operations. Fabrication & Welding. Must have effective communication skills and a positive attitude. Must be dependable and have an attendance record that can be verified by past employers. Highly motivated with attention to detail. Basic PC skills are required (Word, Excel, Outlook). MUST be able to work as part of a team, but with limited supervision. Ability to speak Spanish a plus. Education: Successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. The position also requires three to five years maintenance engineering experience, and specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, and boiler applications. Strong electrical & control systems experience/ability is preferred. The successful candidate must be able to speak and comprehend English, read English and write in English legibly.Physical Requirements: This position requires standing and moving throughout the plant during the workday. Completion of maintenance tasks will require stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, working on ladders and in cramped areas. The candidate must be able to properly lift up to 75 lbs.
