Chief Operating Officer

  Highly successful contracting company located in Maryland is seeking a professional with 15 plus years experience in the Service, Electrical and Construction/Specialty Trade business. We are seeking a person with excellent communication and motivational skills. personal sales and presentation abilities. Experience with strategic planning and good P&L management skills. The ability to manage projects, handle estimating and engineering experience will be needed. Responsible for leading an  experienced management team of  least 10 direct reports. You can respond totally confidentially. Candidates with experience in the Baltimore ot DC area highly desirable. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide leadership and management for a team of project managers responsible for turn key implementation of Construction or Electrical Construction. projects • Responsibility for business development activities and revenue growth • Ensure projects are delivered in a professional manner and with high technical quality standards • Interface with other divisions of the company to develop new opportunities and develop new products and services. • Develop and execute business plans with full P&L responsibility • Manage staff development and team building activities • Build strategic relationships with suppliers and vendors • Oversee project development and engineering through project managers Education/ Experience Requirements: • Proven leadership, management experience, success, and P&L responsibility in the energy systems construction management industry  Bachelor of Science • 10 - 15  Years experience in construction management • Existing relationships with key owners and/or construction managers, architects, or engineers in the Baltimore area• Preferred qualifications: o Profession Engineer license o MBA Desirable Skill Sets and Subject Matter Knowledge: •Knowledge of project cost estimating is required. • Knowledge of utility tariffs and rate structures, understanding of energy procurement in deregulated markets. •Experience in performance contracting and other project financing vehicles • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, AutoCAD. • Ability to travel to up 20% desirable.
