Child Care Caseworker

General Purpose: To manage a caseload of Child Care Assistance recipients in all aspects, including eligibility determination, on-going casework, and interfacing with caseworkers from other programs and child care providers.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:All Low Income Child Care Casework and eligibility assessment Conduct new client orientations and interview appointmentsData entry for all case workResearch and review all ongoing applicant informationReview all Notices before mailingResearch and address all billing discrepanciesBilling problem trackingRefer cases to investigations as neededAudits of child care provider sign-in/out sheets

Job qualifications:

Knowledge, skills and abilities:Ability to convey Rules and eligibility requirementsBasic understanding of child care industry (billing, scheduling, age appropriate practices, program types)Multi tasking abilitiesExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to calculate client incomeFamiliarity with computer systems and softwareAbility to appropriately handle sensitive or confidential informationExcellent phone and customer service skillsReferrals to community resources as neededGood written and oral communication skills

Education:High School Diploma or equivalency; however, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in human services related field preferred, or experience to substitute

Experience:Background in child care, family counseling, eligibility determination or other low income family assistance programs
