IDC’s US consulting practice is responsible for developing and conducting market research and consulting assignments, primarily focused on IT and Telecom industry vendors. We are currently seeking a Consulting Manager to assist in the development of IDC’s consulting practice in the personal, document, and communications technology markets.
The Consulting Manager will be part of IDC’s Personal, Document, and Communications Technologies consulting practice. The Consulting Manager will partner with IDC industry analysts, sales and other IDC groups to manage and contribute to market research and consulting projects. Clients will include leading companies like Dell, HP, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Xerox, Sony and Nokia. After an initial start-up period, the consulting manager will be expected to develop and manage long-term consulting relationships with assigned clients, including repeat engagements.
We are seeking a consulting professional with strong leadership and team management experience who has demonstrated success in creating positive change in industry environments characterized by ambiguity and challenge. The individual should have 8+ years of professional experience with a focus on client development, solution creation with senior level executives, project management and execution, analysis and writing abilities as well as strong presentation skills. The individual should have experience contributing to large consulting projects and advising senior level vendor clients. Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment and knowledge of the IT or consumer electronics industries is highly desirable. Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and market modeling is preferred. Bachelors degree required, masters degree preferred. Travel approximately 5%.
