Corporate Controller

Our client is widely recognized as a government business leader by technology manufacturers and the government community. We are in search of a Corporate Controller responsible for directing and overseeing the financial affairs of a $300M+ company. The fundamental responsibilities of this position are: first, understand the company and the company’s uniqueness in the marketplace, then develop, implement, and continuously improve the procedures, systems, processes, controls, and staff to enable the company to continue to successfully expand. We seek a talented financial leader with superior professional management skills who can quickly garner respect from the senior management team and will become the leader and mentor for the accounting team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the activities of the corporate accounting organization including: accounts receivable ($300M+), accounts payable, order management (500 per month) and credit and collections to ensure the accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of  the company’s monthly and yearly financial statements and related analysis reports Manage corporate cash by effectively monitoring daily cash reports, vendor payment commitments and monthly detailed cash flow forecastsOversee the activities of the accounts receivable function to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components Ensure that the corporate accounting system and time keeping system and their associated business processes, are designed to accommodate DCAA requirements Serve as the company’s principal contact with financial institutions, external auditors and tax preparersEngage with senior management to optimize the performance of a growing business by identifying opportunities for financial gain or cost savings in any of the functional disciplines of the CorporationEnsure compliance with financial institution reporting requirements, accounting principles and policies, state income tax laws, sales and use tax lawEnsure the timely completion of the corporate income tax returns including preparing the required supporting documentation for the company’s outside tax preparation firm Determine creditworthiness of company’s reseller partners and participate as a member of the company’s credit committee

 

REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major CPA certification desiredBig 4 or National Firm experience Government contractor experience including: cost-plus billing, direct vs. indirect, DCAA10+ years of financial management experience (including at least 5 years in a hands-on supervisory or management capacity)Excellent computer skills Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
