Job DescriptionCustomer Volume Planner drives and manages WW HDD Demand/Supply process and acts as the single Volume focal point to ensure clear understanding of Customer/ Channel Demand, Customer/ Channel Allocation, Master Ship Schedule, Customer ship plan & hub finished goods inventory. Key interfaces are WW OEM customers, BU organization, WW Sales Team, Product Volume planning team, Logistics, Customer Technical support, Region Customer Volume Planners, and Order Fulfilment team.  Act as the "volume gate" in reacting to Customer Demand Changes, maximizing customer ships and minimizing FGI levels as well as optimizing Manufacturing efficiency.Customer Volume planner manages worldwide account HDD volume requirements for major OEM customers. Works directly with our external  customer  base for ongoing business activities such as forecast  requirements and changes. Establishes close working relations with our external customers. Acts as the focal point for all demand/supply related customer interaction. Works with BU to obtain allocation to cover World  Wide Customer Demand. Partners with Product Volume planners to obtain supply timing to cover all customer regions. Interacts with Sales Mangers to prioritize product, region, timing, as well as interlock on Sales goals for in quarter and out quarter. Works with Sales & PAE on product EOL, samples,  and qualifications requirements. Manages inventory levels, reconciles data,  product rebalances, UPS service levels, reworks, and QI inventory.  Maintains rolling 13  week Customer Demand versus Supply I/O charts as well as daily customer intransit reports. Also when requested creates Ad-hoc reports for various meetings and interlocks to bridge requirements. Strives to maintain the lowest level of FGI in Logistics centers and customer hubs while remaining flexible to customer upsides & downsides in forecasts.  Drives customer satisfaction by working to meet customer requirements while still maintaining Hitachi GSTs goals and objectives.     Job RequirementsBachelors degree in Business,  Demand /Supply Chain Management, Operations or equivalent experience.  3-5 years of experience preferably in a high-tech environment or computer industry. The candidate must combine a working knowledge of  Demand/Supply Chain practices, demonstrating leadership skills,  strong analytical capabilities,  and organization skills. Must  have strong  communication skills both written and verbal, be a team player, and  conduct themselves in a professional manner with our external customers . Additional requirements include the ability to think strategically and execute tactically with  persistent attention to detail and follow through.
