Database Administrator
The Pittsburgh Technology Council, the largest regional technology trade association in the country, is looking for a highly-motivated, technically-competent professional to join our organization. You will have primary responsibility for administration of the Council’s Microsoft CRM-based system as well as other databases within the organization.
You will be responsible for the development, management and maintenance of the organizations databases which includes: Develop databases utilizing a variety of technologies (SQL Server 2005); Develop and administer all SQL Server databases and applications, including those accessed both internally and externally from our Web sites. Report progress on database development projects, resource utilization, and production performance to management. Monitor the integrity and reliability of the data and underlying database systems. Provide custom extracts of information from database systems in a variety of formats including Excel, flat file, and XML as needed. Support, maintain, and customize the Council’s Microsoft CRM system based on business requirements. Develop and maintain reports for CRM and other database systems utilizing SQL Server reporting services.
Requirements for the position include a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with at least 2 to 4 years experience in database development and administration with SQL Server 2005. Additional requirements include experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, and relational database theory. Expertise with SQL Server Reporting Services is a must. Demonstrated competence at an advanced level with Microsoft Excel including PivotTables is essential. Experience with business intelligence and OLAP technologies (specifically SQL Server Analysis Services) as well as Great Plains accounting software is a plus. Familiarity with administration of CRM systems, specifically Microsoft CRM 3.0, is highly preferred. Experience with training end users on applications (specifically CRM products) is helpful. Other requirements include the ability to learn new technologies in a fast-paced IT environment; strong interpersonal & customer service skills; time management skills; strong analytical, planning, project management skills; and excellent communication skills.
