Deputy Project Manager
We are currently seeking a Deputy Project Manager to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. The responsibilities will include:Provide oversight and direction for Michigan State Disbursement Unit (MiSDU) operations to include: Customer Service, Receipt and Disbursement processing, Central Imaging and Reconciliation, MiSDU Transaction Research, MiSDU Outreach, and MiSDU Quality Assurance. Represent Tier in the development of business processes by the MiSDU to assure responsiveness to State policy, procedural guidelines, operational processes to include performance and accuracy, and compliance with contractual requirements and reporting standards. Interact with partners to ensure completion of project tasks, contract requirements as outlined in the statement of work (SOW), project deliverables and changes in project scope.• Support project mission, vision, goals, objectives, and general scope• Manage leadership team and front line staff and oversee the day to day operations to ensure compliance with time standards• Monitor production of staff including performance and accuracy• Comply with all contractual requirements and reporting standards• Ensure balancing and deposit requirements• Function as interface between the project team and the customer or client manager• Assist Project Director in negotiation of changes in project scope and project deliverables• Support and assist Project Director in financial and budgetary matters related to the project• Ensure completion of the project and contract requirements in the statement of work (SOW)• Define, organize, and assist in the control of project work• Ensure that standards and procedures are followed• Communicate project status Requirements Include:• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent experience, and 3 years of experience in managing a collection or accounts receivable environment.• Strong financial operations knowledge – understand financial operations, including accounting controls, security, and reconciliation. • Experience with personnel management – managing all aspects of project staffing, including hiring, termination, evaluation, and performance improvement.• Experience working in the Child Support arena – experience working with Title IV-D child support program is a must.
