Junior Business Intelligence Developer (Ref. #N122)

TowerGroup is currently seeking a Junior Business Intelligence Developer to design, implement and maintain our enterprise database for marketing, sales and services tracking.  Position will report to the “Sales Operations Director” and the CTO working closely with Marketing and all business lines maintaining, developing and refining the existing database and reporting capabilities.

As the Business Intelligence Developer, you will gather and analyze data, report on marketing programs and tests, perform market penetration analysis, and manage in-house lists and data.  The ideal candidate will have superior quantitative analysis skills.

 

As a Junior Business Intelligence Developer, you will develop your skills in the following:

Cognos, OLAP Cubes, T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Data Base Administration, Microsoft SharePoint, and CRM Integration (Onyx).

Key Job Elements:

  Develop Data Management  and Business Intelligence policies to maintain / enhance data quality.Database Updating – Importing critical prospect information to actively track and report on marketing and sales activities.Requirements Gathering at a high level in a team environment.Responsible for refining / managing company wide reporting – including General Dashboards, Risk Reports, Sales Forecasting, and Consulting Pipeline.Monitoring and alerting, backup and disaster recovery of data warehouse.Documentation, training and general program communications.Database Evaluation – Analyze changing database systems in 2009 and recommend a solution.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  Translate business needs into database-related analysis, data mining projects,  analytics and modeling.

 

Guide decision-making at all levels of the organization through meaningful reports, analyses, and insightful recommendations.

 

  Use segmentation strategy and database software to create targeted campaigns.

 

Track and report on individual sales performance and tests; leverage database to analyze results and make recommendations to improve response and ROI.

 

  Develop marketing reports and run on schedule.

 

  Perform ad-hoc reporting requests.

 

  Monitor market penetration and response trends by segment.

 

 Assist with analysis of survey responses.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

 Technical Degree1 to 2 years experience in application development and / or database management, and / or information analysisWell acquainted with MS SQL Server, T-SQL query’s, stored procedures, and DTS import and export features.Successfully demonstrate data interpretation capabilities Detail orientedStrong project management skills
