Director, Enterprise Services Research

Position Overview:

Perform sophisticated market research including quantitative and qualitative analysis of market trends, business models, technology products, services and vendors in the enterprise IT space. Responsibilities include analysis of application virtualization, desktop virtualization, storage virtualization, general IT networking and hardware markets. Position can include management of up to 4 analysts or can be an individual contributor position.

 

Core job functions include:

·  Providing thought-leadership in the areas of virtualized IT (applications, storage and desktop-based) as well as general IT networking and hardware markets

·  Market researching and providing strategic advisory consulting on market trends, business models, and new developments in technologies and services in the IT industry

·  Communicating research findings; providing expert opinion/industry insight and supporting data to help shape overall industry growth via analysis and presentation

·  Developing and preparing detailed research publications, case studies, research notes, consulting proposals, and conference presentations relating to the business communications services market and its evolution

·  Managing and analyzing enterprise surveys and questionnaires across multiple survey topics/themes to determine enterprise demand and perceptions of new services, technologies, and vendors; analyze and extrapolate data; and converting survey findings into strategic market viewpoints to develop market strategy recommendations for technology vendors and service providers

·  Responsible for client relationship management through research & analysis, customer inquiry and consulting work

·  Guide the creation of forecasts and quantitative instruments used for sales purposes

·  Serving as a team leader, project manager and content expert for consulting engagements to help clients produce marketing plans, strategic initiatives, products roadmaps, and segmentation analysis

 

Qualifications:

·  5-7 years IT or Professional Services firm experience

·  Communications Skills: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Author concise and compelling written publications based on Yankee Group Research that clearly articulates a problem/issue/opportunity, analysis, and outline potentials implications and actionable recommendations. To be able to articulately present, discuss, and defend research findings and methodology.

·  Research and Analytical Skills: Conduct primary and secondary research with significant breadth and depth to help clients address business challenges. Present research findings, actionable recommendations, and advice to clients via written publications, face-to-face meetings, presentations, and consulting engagements.

·  Management, Organization and Planning Skills:  Plan and manage individual and group workload in a coordinated effort with team members to reach internal and external deliverables and timelines

·  Quantitative Skills: Experience with statistical and/or financial modeling and analysis
