Position Summary:

 

With direct accountability to the President, the Director of Audit and Assurance will collaborate with executive management to understand strategic initiatives and recommend internal systems and controls by which the firm can ensure sound and defendable best business practices within a progressive risk assessment framework.

 

Major Responsibilities to Include:

 Establish and maintain the firm’s auditing policies and procedures, independence policies and procedures and quality control policies and procedures.Create policy and documentation requirements; maintain filing system for retrieval by subject matter; consult with engagement teams on technical accounting and auditing issues.Interface with peer reviews, PCAOB inspections and internal inspections.Set and maintain independence policy and maintain independence policy document.Set quality control policies and maintain quality control policy documentOversee compliance with PCAOB CPE training requirementsCollaborate with Director of HR to implement and monitor HR policies and procedures related to the firm’s quality control policy.

 Requirements:

 

Successful applicants will have a distinguished record and a minimum of 10 years of comprehensive experience in audit, quality assurance or related field.  Along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Information Systems or related degree, a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Information Systems Auditor designation is required.  Position requires extensive experience in auditing and a thorough understanding of business and accounting practices.

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as, the ability to advise/influence managers, employees, vendors and internal partners.
