Director of IT Applications

Overview:Responsible for planning and directing a staff of business analysts, technical project managers, software engineers, Q/A professionals, etc. to implement software solutions that support strategic and tactical plans for business improvement.Responsibilities: Build and lead an organization that: *Collaborates with business counterparts at all levels to develop business improvement goals, designs and plans.* Provides deep expertise in the capabilities of supported applications.*  Determines how best to support planned business improvements with information technology, either by leveraging the existing capabilities of supported applications, extending those capabilities, or either acquiring or building new software as appropriate.* Adheres to high professional standards for software quality, system integration, and documentation.* Efficiently implements new information technology based on the above criteria.* Collaborates with business counterparts at all levels to ensure newly delivered information technology is implemented in ways that achieve the original business goals.* Remains current on new technology and technology developments and incorporates/leverages new technologies into the applications and solutions it delivers. Requirements: * Ten or more years experience in software engineering management.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Knowledgeable about modern application and project management methodologies.*  High level of technical expertise. (current technical environment includes Java, J2EE, SQL Server, etc.)*  College Degree required.*  Moderate travel required.The key someone who can lead the organization away from Waterfall methodology and into an agile, rapid release management, SCRUM environment. There will be 15 – 20 reports (some off shore).Market Research industry experience is preferred but not required.
