Director of Outpatient Marketing

DEPARTMENT:  System Communications & Marketing

LOCATION: Butterworth Campus/Towers

JOB SUMMARY:  Develops, directs, coordinates, and integrates Spectrum Health business development strategies into marketing and communication plans for the system including Spectrum Health Grand Rapids Outpatient Care. Consults and collaborates with Outpatient operating units to ensure that market development strategies are effective and support organizational business goals and objectives. Participates in the review of market condition, volume, market share, and referral patterns.  Monitors market trends, executes and implements marketing and communications plans working with internal clients from across the system. Coordinates execution of plans with outside creative services vendors as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION):  Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field. MBA strongly preferred. 10 to 15 years experience working in a large health care system (or comparable setting).

Demonstrated ability to write strategic marketing and communications plans, execute complex marketing and communications campaigns. High level implementation skills and ability to balance system entity and client interests. Strong team and client focus. 

Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Experience building effective teams. Strong business acumen and leadership ability as well as time management and organizational skills. Self-directed. Takes initiative. Independently mobile. Ability to make quality, independent decisions. Strong analytical and also creative problem-solving skills. Results-oriented strategic thinker. Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines, high volumes and multiple interruptions.
