Currently, there is a position for Director of Planning, Strategy and Business Development for Geisinger Health System in Danville, PA.  This position is responsible for providing insight and consultation on strategic growth opportunities throughout the health system.  This position works closely with the Sr. VP to lead and direct strategically sound business proposals to current and new constituents. This position along with the Director of Analytics will assist the Sr. VP in collaboration with physicians, platform leaders, and service line leaders in the identification and development of new and/or expanded programs and services, assessing technology and other innovations to ensure that Geisinger Health System remains state-of-the-art and competitively positioned. This position develops, executes, and manages project timelines; as well as conducting internal and external assessments plus prepares strategic business plans in conjunction with service line or project sponsors. This position oversees the flow and quality of all plans and proposals working in collaboration with the Director of Analytics.  This position reports to the Sr. Vice President, Strategy and Business Development and supervises a group of planning analysts.

 

To be successful in this position, the candidate must demonstrate strong organizational/management skills, writing ability, an appropriate sense of how one communicates with a variety of audiences, critical thinking skills and the ability to get things done in a complex organization.  The position requires an understanding of the healthcare market (patient, provider and payer perspective), healthcare delivery systems, current healthcare regulatory environment and future trends. It is important that the candidate exhibit sound, mature judgment and appropriate discretion in the handling of highly sensitive and confidential information. Success also requires the capability to make solid decisions based on information and data from numerous sources, creativity in the design of innovative solutions to complex problems and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

 

The candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years related management experience in strategic planning, healthcare marketing, or clinical operations in an acute care environment.   Masters degree preferred.
