The Software Developer evaluates complex client area requirements and processes, such as enhancements or maintenance. This professional prepares application system specifications, and develops tests, and implements efficient, cost-effective application solutions. This role requires broad knowledge of the client area's functions and systems, as well as systems and application program development technological alternatives. Responsibilities Under limited supervision, work with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes. Coordinate the implementation of any changes into production. Research and evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend the most efficient and cost-effective methods and techniques to facilitate systems design and development. Formulate logical statements of business problems, and devise, test, and implement efficient, cost-effective application program solutions based on standards and procedures. Assist in gathering and analyzing information for developing and modifying applications. Write and prepare specifications, documentation, and system flow charts for complex computer programs based on an understanding of the business or functional requirements, typically requiring maintenance and/or modification of existing and proposed applications. Provide some direction and guidance to other systems programmers. Participate in the user acceptance test of the application. Develop technical design, code, and unit test the developed Documentum eDocs application. Design, develop, upgrade, test, implement and document software components of Web based systems; contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle. Ability to work independently and use critical thinking to accomplish a task. Ability to work with other team members to accomplish project goals. P2D To qualify, candidates must have:a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience approximately 3-6 years of experience in systems analysis and application program development Both a broad and detailed technical background in all of the documentum suite of products/components that we are currently using or may plan to use such as Content Management, Webtop, RPS, BPM, Documentum Administrator, etc. such that they can provide guidance, troubleshoot, etc. Having a background with D6 will be a big plus. Experience in architecting, designing, and implementing a mission critical, enterprise level document management solution Advanced knowledge of WDK, BOF (TBO, SBO) coding to provide guidance/direction to developers Ability to multi-task and be able to work with technical resources from other disciplines/areas such as DBA, Infrastructure Engineers, GIS, etc. Experience as a Documentum Administrator to provide support for activities such as: 1. Software installation in new Documentum environment including a. Content Server b. Index server (FAST) configured as active/standy - possibly multi-node in future c. WebTop/DA (need familiarity with WebSphere - Websphere technical support is provided by GOS) d. Custom DCTM applications (i.e., eDocs) e. New Repository Creation 2. Maintaining installation documentation 3. Maintaining configuration information for each environment including DCTM software versions, patches, OS versions, Web application versions, etc. 4. Manual creation/deactivation of users 5. Repository group maintenance (i.e. fulfillment group members in eDocs) 6. Coordinating with GOS to take backups of each environment, and restoring repository state as needed (i.e. Training environment) 7. Monitoring disk/database usage and working with GOS/business for additional allocation as needed. 8. General Health and Maintenance such as a. Resolving inconsistencies reported by the Consistency Checker b. Monitoring Usage and Performance monitoring reports c. The first responder when alert notification is sent 9. Maintaining documentation on password change procedures 10. Performing the password change procedures 11. Primary contact with EMC support NJ-Secaucus
