Enterprise Project Manager (Process Improvement / Business Improvement)
Reperio, Inc., a Boston area Executive Search Firm, has been engaged by one of its Fortune 500 clients in Ann Arbor, Michigan to conduct a search for multiple Enterprise Project Managers.
Summary:
The Enterprise Project Manager will lead and manage multiple complex business improvement initiatives for our client and their subsidiary companies, on a global basis. Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including proposal creation, solution development, pilot execution, implementation planning, implementation management, measurement and control of results, and project reporting. Serve as the primary point of contact between top corporate and operations executives and business operations, outside clients and internal clients.
Essential Functions:
· Research complex business improvement opportunities in order to prioritize the company’s investment in overall enterprise improvement activities.
· Lead in the research and formation of hypotheses and the analysis of project data.
· Develop proposals for business improvement initiatives that include a description of the opportunity, a solution hypothesis, budget request, project plan and benefit forecast to be reviewed for approval by a committee of the company’s top operating executives.
· Manage the solution development and pilot execution process. Revise project plans, budgets and benefit forecasts according to the pilot results or as needed.
· Write project implementation charters for agreement by operating personnel prior to the start of the solution implementation process.
· Ensure projects satisfy the agreed-upon requirements, including quality planning, quality assurance and quality control.
· Ensure project is completed within the approved budget that includes resource estimations, cost estimations, and cost monitoring and control.
· Identify organizational changes that must occur and develop appropriate communication and training plans for impacted departments and staff to support recommendation.
· Collaborate with business units and functional areas to install the identified solution. Assist in the resolution of issues and refinement of the implementation strategy and plan.
· Provide timely and appropriate generation and dissemination of project information to management and other stakeholders to ensure expectations are consistent with the realities of the project. Create reports through all phases of assigned projects to ensure effective communication and historical documentation.
· Participate in the development of best practice strategies for out client’s Enterprise Engineering Team.
· Provide effective leadership and direction to project team members.
· Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Scope and Accountability:
· Works under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment. No direct supervisory responsibility, however, will be responsible for leadership and mentoring of team members.
· Frequently, incumbent's decisions and actions strongly impact the company's revenue or operations. Decisions and actions have a significant impact on reputation, and/or customer satisfaction.
· Incumbent makes recommendations, gives direction to others, and performs work independently or with minimal supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related technical field required.
· Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or related field, or equivalent in combination of education and/or experience.
· 5+ years of experience in management consulting, operations management or transferable areas.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience within the transportation and logistics discipline.
· Strong skills in database, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications (such as found in MS Office Suite).
· Ability to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions and solve difficult, data-heavy problems.
· Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to provide clear information for internal business partners.
· Ability to manage resources not directly within the chain-of-command (consultants, suppliers, business unit or functional team members).
· Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
· Ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and influence without authority or title
· Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive materials and information.
· Ability to conduct large group meetings and presentations for internal and external clients at all levels, including executive and board level management.
· Ability to coordinate and execute multiple complex projects at the same time.
· Ability to travel ~ 20% of the time.
Work Environment:
· Working within a team environment that requires collaboration and the certainty of effective business solutions.
· Frequent contact with individuals outside of work group via telephone, computer and in person.
