Events Marketing Manager (high tech trade association)

SUCCESS MEANS VISION …. AeA is the largest association of high-tech companies in the U.S. with 2,500 companies, representing all segments of the high technology industry and 1.8 million employees.  We seek an entrepreneurial individual for our LA/Santa Barbara Council located in Woodland Hills to develop and coordinate marketing, planning and execution of our local events and projects for our local industry members. 

 

This individual will market and coordinate local programs and events, secure event speakers and participants, negotiate contracts with event venues, and assist in recruiting event corporate sponsors.  In addition to event marketing and management, this individual will also develop a local PR plan in conjunction with our national team, staff multiple council committees, develop marketing collateral to support local industry membership events and membership development efforts, and maintain the council website and database.

 

Requirements include a degree or equivalent along with 2+  years related experience.  The candidate must be highly organized, team-oriented, customer-focused, and able to multi-task.  (S)he must possess polished communications skills and a high level of professionalism to interact with high-profile corporate executives and other business leaders in the high technology industry. We require proven marketing and programs abilities, excellent written/oral communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.  The candidate must be extremely comfortable in using technology to do their job (computers/database/software applications/internet). Prior experience in database entry, Lotus Notes and FrontPage (or HTML – a solid understanding of the concept) is key to success. Prior event and project planning skills and/or high tech experience is very desirable.  Local travel to periodic programs and meetings is required.
