FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING DIRECTOR
Overview
Reporting to the President, the Director of Accounting and Finance provides leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, budget management functions and oversee the Accounting staff.
This position will be located in the Corporate Office is a Great Area of Burbank central to the 5, 134 and 210 fwys. You will have the opportunity to interface with all Senior Management and have an integral part of the decisions, direction and goals for the company. This position will have the expectations for the individual to be on a VP/CFO career path. Work/Life balance is very important to this company and you will work 8 to 9 hour days at most. ResponsibilitiesDirect and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions. Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies. Oversee daily operations of the finance department. Manage the preparation of the official annual report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses. Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts. Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop five year and ten year business plans for the company. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives. Serve on, and contribute to, planning and policy-making committees. Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff. Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education/Experience: BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent; and 10 to 15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to construct and thoroughly analyze financial reporting. Computer Skills: MS Office skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Strong knowledge of treasury function, cash flow planning. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting. Ability to recruit, train, monitor and retain a strong accounting amd finance team.
