The Finance Systems Analyst – Accounting supports the global Finance and Accounting user group and serves as the liaison with IT for all accounting systems. The incumbent provides guidance and makes recommendations on a broad range of system and process issues, with an emphasis on process improvement and optimization of system functionality. He/She works independently on most projects/assignments, receiving direction from the Manager on new or more complex assignments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Provides first-line functional user support for the enterprise financial system, which may include logging and tracking trouble tickets and utilizing applications tools for initial troubleshooting. Supports the research and resolution of systems issue as required.
2. Works closely with counterparts in the IT organization to plan and implement enhancements and prioritize future projects, while balancing business needs against IT resource constraints.
3. Ensures appropriate adherence to internal controls through the review of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control documentation, security setup, and project scope and design documents.
4. Obtains systems requirements from business users and creates related project documentation as necessary.
5. Assists in the development and documentation of design decisions and standards to ensure consistency across systems.
6. Identifies and recommends improvements in current standards and implementation of system changes.
7. Coordinates business user testing from both a design as well as execution perspective.
8. Collaborates closely with Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, IT counterparts, and other internal business partners to develop and implement process and design changes, as appropriate.
9. Develops and delivers training documentation, as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS Knowledge & Skills:
1. Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Financial Management Software (e.g. PeopleSoft).
2. Thorough understanding of systems implementations. Familiarity with basic principles of data analytics and relational database concepts.
3. Functional knowledge of accounting and financial processes (i.e. general ledger, planning and budgeting, expense management).
4. Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
5. Proficiency in oral and written communication and presentation skills, especially across functions and organizations.
6. Strong facilitation and listening skills to effectively lead interviews and workshops.
7. Project leadership ability with excellent organization, prioritization and planning skills.
8. Ability to use sound judgment and experience to make independent decisions, as applicable.
9. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

Education & Experience:
Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial systems experience with an emphasis on process improvement, plus hands on experience with the full project lifecycle (SDLC or equivalent).
