Fixed Asset Accountant

The position process transactions and administer a centralized fixed asset sub-ledger system, developing new and improving upon existing policies and procedures.  Provide timely and accurate reports to senior management comparing current performance to budget for capital projects.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities Insure all capital expenditure invoices are processed timely and accurately in accordance with corporate policies & procedures. Review and revise existing capitalization policies and procedures and recommend improvements for processing capital and renovation expenditures. Communicate capital procedures to regional and operational teams to insure clear understanding of the capital process exists at all levels of the organization. Review depreciation and amortization expense for accuracy. Maintain required balance sheet sub-schedules and participate in the annual audit process as required Participate in the annual capital budget process as required Lead the implementation of any fixed asset sub-ledger systems or modules, including project management and asset management. Develop and maintain project cost tracking systems/reporting to provide actual vs. budget comparisons to senior management Develop additional policies and procedures where needed to ensure transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Work closely with the development department and field operations to ensure capital expenditures are recorded correctly and paid timely.
