Project Place, located in the South End, is a 41-year-old non-profit organization serving adults experiencing homelessness through job training and placement, job creation programs, adult education and transitional housing.

 

Food and Beverage Supervisor/Manager: Take your professional skills to a new level with this exciting opportunity to manage entrepreneurial food and beverage service businesses for a non-profit organization working with individuals transitioning out of homelessness.

 

Project Place is seeking a full-time experienced Food and Beverage manager/chef who can oversee all kitchen operations in the production of a line of quality, homemade food to be sold through a number of venues in Boston.  Will also oversee a nutritionally beneficial lunch program for agency clients.  Requires ability to train and supervise kitchen staff from diverse backgrounds, an organized, creative and flexible approach to daily operations, and a vision for business growth and development.

 

Qualifications: Individual who applies must have four years minimum experience in restaurant business specifically in preparing food. Catering experience helpful. Supervisory experience preferred.  Good organizational and time management skills. Sensitivity to mission of organization.

 

Normal working hours are Monday through Friday from 7A – 4P with only rare weekend/night work.  Salary of $35-40K, commensurate with experience, and excellent fringe benefits.
