The director provides leadership to ensure that EY has a leading practice external web site and extranet technologies to support all business and functional units worldwide aligned with the Global EY strategy and balance scorecard. The director oversees and refines our global business requirements process that systematically gets input from our Seven Areas and global units that guides the firms multi-million dollar discretionary spend on enhancing the competitiveness of our web experience. The director accomplishes this with a solid line reporting relationship to 3 sets of teams (operations- Bangalore _India) Product and Project managers (London, Cleveland and Secaucus) and an indirect management of the IT client connectivity team in EYG IT (Secaucus) In addition, maintain and enhance a matrix relationship with the 7 Area eChannel leads to help the global firm achieve leading, growing and consistent web implementation. The director ensures that proactive measures are in place to work with the General Council / US and EYG, US and Global QRM and Global and country People teams and Global Information Security Officer to make sure that legal, regulatory, security and privacy considerations are addressed. Create and manage a competency pool focused on innovation that brings new business models and new technology ideas that can be leveraged to meet business needs. Manage the validation of the same with stakeholder and drive the effective implementation of the same. The web services provide over 14 million visitors to EY sites and direct support for 20,000 EY and client people conducting business on our larges Office of the Chairman Accounts through our secure collaboration services. Ensuring the development of leading practices of the use of these capabilities on a daily basis to give EY a competitive position in our Global Account pursuit and business development initiatives. Responsibilities: Essential Functions of the Job Oversees a management structure and service delivery process that provides oversight and direction for all internet and extranet technology build and infrastructure for the global firm - including content publishing, enablement of collaboration of capabilities, customized solutions and portals for global priority accounts, and all associated training and deployment efforts . Working with the Digital Manager in EYG Communications and Knowledge provides the support that produces the user experience on the internet that directly supports the firm's strategy, account and sector development or recruitment needs. Lead a team of product specialists responsible for maintaining the proper functioning, leading practice of each of the technology platforms: Content Management, Collaboration and Interaction, Membership Management and Video/Audio and other multi media interactions (i.e. Webcasting). Drive the recommendation of the appropriate global firm infrastructure to ensure adequate acceptance and use of these platforms. These products must develop independently and in a coordinated manner to ensure a robust web user experience and that firm resources are appropriately and efficiently spent. Lead a team of project managers that utilize our product portfolio and operations center to provide for the design and implementation of strategic goals in the annual budget approved by the Global OEC. These goals are global, system wide and are associated to the direct client serving needs of the practice. For example, design and implement leading recruiting web site with the people and Comms teams, design and implement a collaboration space for the global sectors to share external development events around the world, design new ways to maintain online relationships with OCA and GPA account members, Implement and leading industry practices to optimize results on the web. Lead a team that assists strategic initiatives in developing approaches to using the web portfolio in achieving its goals. This is an internal consulting role where facilitation, understanding EY strategy, structure and operations is required to implement a practical solution with business speed and mitigated risk. Make sure that all systems (operational and developmental) are documented into a master digital documentation repository that is connected to global marketing, brand, People, QRM, Legal and Service lines and IT. This documentation assists the member firm design and implement digital applications and tools and sites learning from each other and complying with risk mitigating efforts. These include brand protection, IT performance, legal and privacy etc. Lastly, the director must make sure that EY maintains leading web technology and practices. This is accomplished by supporting the Global Comms/ Knowledge Officer assimilate multiple perspectives/ data/ information from industry subject matter specialists in web design, 2.0 Web techniques, operations, integrated marketing and communications, content management/ development and usability. Managing an outside panel of experts and an inside panel of Global Partners/ Principals/ Directors to assimilate and determine the applicability of the points of view to the EY digital strategy is critical to the future. Analytical/Decision-Making Responsibilities The director recommends an annual budget, approved by the firm's global operating governance structure (OEC) that provides for technology hosting and development, operational support, product management, strategic global initiatives. This is in excess of $ 20 million and involves providing service to all member firms in support of external client and stakeholder virtual relationships. Line responsibility for three hubs of personnel, required to foster one global seamless team. Further tight integration with both IT and the EYG Comms/ Knowledge directors and programs is critical to the success of the program Day to day decision making on all enhancements and major upgrades to the public internet/ private extranet. Judgment of risk mitigating programs effectiveness in the area of security of our extranet services. Annual reviews of our systems and accountability to the EYG Security Office for exceptions granted. Promotion of firm standards to the business in brand and security is required. Compliance to these standards is needed to optimize success and is challenging in our matrix organization. The director must maintain the standards and lead business unit personnel to the right solution balanced with prudent business practices. People management and development responsibilities for all team members (approximately 50 Supervision Responsibilities Direct reporting of 1) Lead Project Manger team, 2) Product Portfolio team, 3) Web strategy and Digital Documentation Team, 4) Operational Hub. Management of expert panel of outside specialists, Management of internal Governance of Partners and department Heads, Matrix of 7 Area eChannel directors .Knowledge and Skill Requirements : Master and long term success in: 1) applying technology solutions to global professional services or related industries 2) Ability to lead a consulting process with internal business unit leaders so that their desired outcomes are realized and business objectives implemented and at the same time maintain a global standard program. 3) Create the knowledge and best practices sharing with the internal client through the appropriate training and communications with Area Leads. 4) Effective Project management of complex, global technology implementation 5) Global working experience extended over multiple countries and lasting duration 6) Management of people and projects on a global scale through several lines of management 7) Demonstrated communications, writing, and people skills 8) Demonstration of continued learning in the web/ technology field through certification or training completion 9) Systems thinking and analysis as demonstrated in work implementation of competing demands of clients, time, resources and risk. 10) High energy that is derived from complexity of organization structure. Teaming is critical, but the candidate must demonstrate the ability derive fulfillment through consultation and operating interdependently and be accountable for the outcome not just the process. Experience 15 Years + of increasing growth experience, demonstrating growth, learning, risk taking and life / balance Multilanguages preferred as well as extensive global travel. Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred Other Requirements Travel periodic to Bangalore, London, Cleveland.
