Group Content Manager

Position Summary:
Scope of Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing team of Content Managers—database/source experts—who assist in making content selection decisions and who define the functional requirements and specifications for new sources of content.
o Direct the evaluation of new content sources and identification of potential sources in new categories
o Support the licensing process with analysis and consultation
o Manage team member workload and the queue of projects to load new content and maintain/update existing content database loaders
o Measure throughput and implement new efficiencies by applying standard tools and develop common components
Day-to-day operations of content integration, vendor management, data enhancement within the Content Integration Group; workflow management and the timely completion of all Content Integration related projects; leading Content Integration Specialists (CIS), setting regular Content Integration policy and procedures, and the setting of expectations and goals, as well as hiring and reviews of the CIS team; representing managements’ and company’s values and goals.
Required Experience:
Team and project management, use of relational database systems and custom software solutions; project requirements and specification writing; written and verbal expert communications with peers, team, management and customers; familiarity with researching and resolving data issues/problems (DIPs); measuring the rigors of projects and planning accordingly.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science or equivalent in business, economics, or liberal arts. Library Sciences training a plus.
· Excellent team management skills, leads by example, clearly defines goals and motivates staff.
· Excellent project management skills, multi tasking is second nature. Has ability to quickly react and reallocate staff resources an environment that is fast paced and ambiguous at times.
· Excellent time management skills, completing projects as assigned on time while ably responding to unplanned situations when they arise.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proactive in identifying and targeting areas in need of improvement or greater resourcing as they relate to Content Integration day-to-day operations.
· Unrelenting in the reporting and streamlining of all CIS regular assignment work.
· Highly skilled in taking lead role of large-scale cross-functional projects, planning, assigning, reporting, managing, and completion of projects, is team oriented and communicative. Works well under pressure and tight deadlines.
· Proficient knowledge of Content Integration technology and related software. Ability to write and run select statements a plus.
· Familiar with business information services like OneSource, Dialog, Lexis-Nexis, D&B.
· Proficient with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office suite of products, and business research on the World Wide Web.
· Proactive in understanding and maintaining knowledge of OS’ industry, competitors, and overall status in the marketplace.
