Health Information Management Specialist

The Pines Residential Treatment Centers have been helping children and adolescents overcome a variety of difficulties in a therapeutic, safe and structured residential environment. We offer several distinct residential programs for youth ages 5 to 21 and have emerged as one of the largest and strongest treatment organizations for behaviorally disordered youth. The Pines is currently recruiting for a Health Information Management Specialist to join our team in Portsmouth, VA.

This position provides technical support and assistance in filing, record assembly, record analysis, record purging, document sorting, scanning, indexing and release of information processes / documents. Job duties include, but not limited to, sorting resident documentation alphabetically, chronologically and by unit, filing, thinning and purging resident records, copying, faxing, and logging releases of information, assisting staff with record reviews and/or record completion, preparation of resident records for outside agency reviews.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with one year general office or clerical experience preferably in a health care setting.
